The sweet face, full of smiles and silky voice behind wonderful gospel songs, the multi-award winning gospel superstar, Esther Smith is making a strong and endless impact on the gospel music scene.
She is seen as an inspiration and her looks juts cannot make one think of anything less. She has indeed proven beyond all reasonable doubts to her numerous fans that she really has come to stay.
She changed the ‘righteous’ scene with her debut "Adikro Na Mi Nim" in 2001, which had very impressive sales nationwide, attracted awards and firmly established her as a gospel musician. Her debut still remains the highest sold gospel album in Ghana after Cindy Thomson’s "Awuradi Kasa".
She followed it up with another professional, standard and unbeatable project as her second album tilted "Onyame Boafo" which was obviously a mind-blowing piece. Visibly, it will be very difficult to choose the best from her tracks like ‘Nipa’, ‘Onyame Ben Ni’, ‘Ensuro’, ‘Ma won san’, ‘Ose Ayeyi’ on her second album which was indeed a masterpiece. Her current and third album referred to as her third magic is not too far from a successful platinum sales (Ghana level) if you ask me. You bet? Then read this.
Information confirmed by Esther Smith herself has it that, even when the album was being duplicated to hit the market, over ten thousand cuts of tapes had already been ordered and fully paid for. Be your own judge.
Presently the inspirational singer has her tapes (cassette) and CDs on the streets of Accra and other regional capitals and according to figures available to us Esther is still selling much more than most new gospel albums.
The eight tracks on-tape album titled "so wo gyidie mu yie" as always have other inspirational and great songs like ‘Awieye’, ‘Yesu Wo Ma Fa’, "Nsuro To Wo Bu Ase", "Tia me fre Jesus", ‘Nyame Eyoamaa’. Have no doubts.
Unlike the first and second which was partly produced by Esther and her father, Mr. Smith. Esther said she and her husband executively produce this latest gig.
Mr. Ahinkan, a Pastor who is married to Esther, became highly controversial with regards to sales and management of Esther’s work. “I know he (my father) is still selling my first and selling my first and second album into his pocket but trust me, he is not going to get that chance to come near this third one, the gospel star outlined; Esther added. Trust, us for the full controversy between Esther, her father and her husband.
