I have been a regular audience of our TV reality shows especially, Mentor on TV3, Idol West Africa on Metro TV and Stars of the Future on GTV.
I enjoy all the shows since they serve as leisure and help to release tension after a day’s or week-long activity.
I enjoyed Idol West Africa and I hardly missed it.
I wished there were more Ghanaians and citizens from other West African countries in the competition apart from the Nigerians so it would not have been as Nigeria-dominated as we saw.
The advice I have for the producers is that next time, each country should present an equal number of contestants, that is to say that if the final number they need to commence the show after their audition is 24, then there should be an equal number of contestants from all the participating countries.
Mentor I was enjoyed by all and sundry Mentor II was not patronized so well and so is Mentor III. The producers should wake up.
The first edition of the Stars of the Future reality show left an unforgettable memory in the hearts and minds of all who watched it. It can be likened to American Idol.
I must also confess that the current edition is still classy and exciting to watch.
It is a show worth watching and it has a bright future. The competitors choose their own songs and they know what they are about as compared to other reality shows.
They are very good and it looks like this year’s would be as keenly contested as last year’s. So far I have not come across any reality show in Ghana whose quality is like Stars of the Future.
Charter House should keep up the good work and keep our hopes alive in the show.
They should brainstorm and see if we cannot have stars of the future – Africa.
