Time on the radar is 6am sharp. Hi everybody time is up for the smooth take off of your reliable jumbo 105, your number of space rockets, WFET-105 for another rollicking journey to the Entertainment world where the bad news is that that…Lucky Dube is gone. God is your co-pilot.
Satan is the one keeping his hands on the compass, so keep praying and be disciplined. Welcome aboard this wonderful flight, which is traveling with a speed of sounds about 10,000 feet above sea level. No frets here just hold your heads high as we pick the latest news on Lucky Dube and Fine Boy on the radar.
THE DOUBLE LOSS, DOUBLE TROUBLE… Within these few weeks we have suffered a serious casualty that could have a serious repercussion on our forward match to the entertainment world. We are stunned by the death of yet another prominent member of this chartered flight, Fine Boy the 2003 winner of the first ever Tolimasters competition and a comedian.
Following closely on the heels of the death of Fine Boy is Lucky Dube one of Africans finest as far as reggae music is concerned was shot dead by carjackers in the early hours of Thursday and read the full test on the flip side. Fine Boy who was christened Iyvin Nii Odartey Lamptey after birth was once a top comedian and has participated in so many shows and at your popular Concert Party where he was the master of the act. He will be well remembered for his outstanding performance during the 2003 Grand Toli-master competition beating five other competitors to win the cash-prize of ¢3 million. In the later part of his life he joined Happy Fm and Top Radio as an anchor man to add humor to the program.
ABEIKU SANTANA WAS HE ICE WATERED?
Much like the seismic tremor that periodically rock Asia in the name of Hurricanes, the news that the renowned and celebrated radio presenter, Gabriel Abeiku Aggrey alias Abeiku Santana was pelted with ice water when he MC this year’s Ghana Music Award UK event was as shocking as anything one can think of.
Already people have expressed reservation about the way the event was organized so when the issue of Abeiku cropped up people began to read meanings into it so when WFET-105 jet intercepted his flight mid-air at Adom 106.3 Fm during his favorable Drive Time Hour – Offie Kwanso he categorically denied the allegation and described it as wicked, ridiculous, barbaric, vexatious, irresponsible and a calculated attempt to discredit him of his hard won reputation.
“What happened was that, I was the MC (Master of ceremony) for the occasion and during the course of the show there was some scuffles within the crowd so in an attempt to control the situation as Mc I cautioned the prospective trouble makers to halt it since we are not here to cause commotion; then out of the confusion somebody in the crowed threw one small ice cube onto the stage, which was even highly recognized, that was all Amess.” He exclaimed.
Abeiku is one of the best drive time hosts in the country today and the presenter of Offie Kwanso on Adom Fm. As the name implies he commutes listeners from the capital city to their places of abode. He is able to reach his wide audience with good music from Gospel, Highlife, Hiplife, R&B, Reggae among others in a very smooth and exciting manner especially his motivational messages and LPMs.
During this period he captivates his audience with vast store of information and text messages before he allows his audience to participate in the segment that seems to have endeared his listeners most, Kyenkyen Kuma! He is also the host of TV3 entertainment program, Fusion, and CEO of Strategic Communication Ltd.
Life has not been that rosy for this young determined man. In 2001-he left the shores of Ghana for Europe for greener pastures. His sojourn outside the country didn’t help him much and he decided to returned home to join Adom Fm in 2002 as a presenter of Offie Kwanso and in 2004 the brother decided to improve his skills in communication so when he gained admission in Iona University in New York he didn’t hesitate to grab the offer but later on he changed his mind to go to the New York Para-legal school and legal studies to read law respectively. But Konkonsa-Ba and my cousin Apumakoshie of Abossey Okai want to know what has happened to that. It is a question oh…………….
KONKONSA-BA
KONKONSA–BA wants to know the where about of NKASIE…. Hello … did you say High? Once again I say hello… yeah better. Before this flight there have been unsubstantial stories about the where about of NKASIE, you remember Tuabodom? You remember also when they made a big contribution to tribal fanatism with the song? However, information reaching us indicate that the duo are in UK for what I can’t say now but Konkonsa–Ba chanced on a document which alleged that one of them has been enlisted into the British Army. Eye ampa anaa?
PLEASE NO POLITICS HERE. Last week Konkonsa-Ba had information that some unanimous person called from one of the aspirants’ of the New Patriotic Party’s office to warn and in fact threaten the Hiplife trio from Adabraka Assase Aban who are made up of Yooba Walker and Drasty to desist from pasturing their posters on their candidate’s posters.
The faceless caller stated that they have pasted their posters on some of the NPP Political aspirants notably Nana Akoffu Addo and Allen Kyeremateng. The most boiling aspect of his accusation was, “I know you are not musicians as you want us to believe. We know it is the NDC, who have recruited you to do this we know, you want to sabotage our people”. Woa, hwe!
A supererogation at the highest point! See these sycophants. Please no politics here. These are young able men with integrity and sense of responsibility and will not do anything to jeopardize any person. Please don’t drag them into your political–solecism. You can fool some people sometime you cannot fool all the people all the time! If it comes to defacing of posters I think some of these disgruntled errand political sycophants are most guilty of all.
Go to circle now and see what is happening. They have “dirty” all the walls with some of these posters and I am waiting to hear what the AMA will say. Your time go come!! Yet they want the musicians to do songs for their political campaigns, FIRE BURN DEM.
JAMES AGYENIM–BOATENG of Radio Gold what they happen? James Agyenim-Boateng of Radio Gold fame was spotted during the week on NET 2 TV. James is by far one of the best radio presenters to have hit our airwaves in recent times. Kojo as he is popularly referred to have what it takes to get listeners glued to his shows but when I saw the advert running through NET 2 TV, the newly embraced Madina base TV station, I was not surprised at all because I knew what he is capable of doing. Neatly dressed in a beautiful light pink shirt over black pantaloon with a well-polished black shoe to march, hmm! Did you see the spectacle?
Eh, Kojo “Onipa” Nkeye na woa yeyie o’’ James Agyenim-Boateng is my number one admirer because of the way he conduct himself during interviews and his line of questioning. As one of the young presenters to have hit the private electronic landscape (Radio and TV) with alacrity he has carved a niche for himself as a versatile presenter: DJ, Newscaster, Morning show host and Talk show (60minutes). He has graduated from the Radio Gold (he still at post) into one of the choicest choices of NET 2 TV.
Did you see any paper in front of him during the interview with Dr. Akosa? The brother is Don and swift. Patience isn’t a virtue? Welcome aboard Kojo Agyenim-Boateng, we wish you well in your new endeavor. Keep the humility, respect and calmness and your God will see you through. But why did you leave Nana to his fate? Think about it.
WHO THE HELL DO THESE LADIES THINK THEY ARE? Last week Friday around 8.40pm I was at Osu Shell Filling Station Mart opposite Papa Ye for some biscuit and drinks with my guys. I was relaxing in the car and I saw the ace movie icon Fred Amugi entering the Mart but returned immediately fuming. When I inquired from my guys they told me the sales girls at the counter were rude to the actor.
So I immediately called Fred on his cell phone and according to him he has been buying things from that Mart for sometime now but that evening he went to buy ice cream and forgot to collect his wooden-stick so he came back apparently for it and it was given to him but just as he turned to go the other girl said, in front of people “It is not compulsory and not meant for the type I bought.
So I also told her that if has schooled me I am grateful and I dropped it and left” he explained. When asked whether he was hurt by the lady’s comment his answer was yes but said it is up to him to decide if he should go there to shop again. This kind of attitudinal delinquency will not help us as a people. Actually this is not the first time and Konkonsa-Ba is not complaining because it involves celebrities but when something is wrong it is wrong. As for me Konkonsa-Ba I won’t tolerate this kind of stupidity, in my kingdom, why?
…and BATMAN SAYS WHAT? His royalness Samini went on air to announce that he doesn’t want to be called Batman again. We were all worried of this development but before we could say Jack he officially outdoor the name Batman again through Ofori Amponsah’s latest song Odwo. In that song we heard him loud and clear that…Batman, All4Real ye be sie mo o o…eh! Samini what’s up?
With this we are gradually approaching our destination…woash! How time fly when you are in such good company? Catch’ya next week!
