No time to take a breath. TV3 can’t rest on its oars without stewing another Mentor for its fans. So here you are with yet another one: Mentor IV. Maybe they’ll take a short break after Mentor IV, maybe not. Who knows?
Through the changing scenes of Mentor, it’s for sure everyone has their favourites from Mentor I when Chris Attoh hosted right through to Mentor II and III that was hosted by Anita and XXX.
The producers of Mentor have decided that for Mentor IV, all the varying faces of the competition will be put together for a Celebrity Mentor, if you so please.
Needless to say there will be no auditioning as there usually is. So all those Mentor wannabes will have to wait for Mentor V or VI or probably Mentor X.
Representing from generation one of Mentor is the R. Kelly wannabe, Hakeem whose music career ended in moviemaking.
We also have Showboy Isaac who has done considerably better than all over Mentor compatriots with his collabo with Great Ampong and Cee. See, it’s not only those who win who make it big.
Next in line will be Prince (1st place winner), Joe, Kofi, Vic, and Cee all of Mentor II. Continuing in that same line from the recently ended Mentor III is loud-voiced Erico (winner of Mentor III), Faya, Paa, Dela, Cee and KayGee, coming together to make 12 competitors for the show.
The show will last only 8weeks and will have only three judges: two resident judges – Mark and Dominic – and one guest judge that will go with the genre of music tackled each week.
The show will start with a launch at Studio B on November 4th and will go through to December 30th with the top four at the International Conference Center. There is a small flick in the show.
The audience at home and in the studio has 100% power over the programme. They choose who leaves and who stays in.
However, the judges have the veto of keeping one of the bottom two in the game after the viewers have made their decision.
