Mufti Dabre, a renown broadcaster on Peace FM and manager of popular musician, Ofori Amponsah has been reported dead this morning in Kumasi.
His death came after he suffered an ailment. He was buried according to Islamic custom today at 15 hours GMT. Regular on-air programming on Peace FM was interrupted for discussions on the death of a loyal Peace FM presenter.
Mufti’s jingles were played on every show today on Peace FM. This certainly comes as a big blow to Despite Company Limited and its entire staff especially his close pals at the station.
Mufti Dabre was recently seen on TV as one of the contestants of the popular TV3 Presenter’s Guide show representing Peace FM.
Mufti has also been Ofori Amponsah’s manager after controversy arose over Frank Agyekum (Ofori Amponsah’s former manager) and subsequently Koo Fori and Omanhene Kwabena Asante who left the management team after a few months.
Mufti Dabre’s death is not only a big blow to his radio station but also to the management of 4Reez Entertainment and the entire showbiz fraternity.
Mufti starred in the popular Taxi Driver series on Ghana Television.
The co-owner of D-Squared Entertainment Productions limited, Mr Francis Doku was the first to share his fond memories of Mufti with Joy News.
“He was a partner of mine…he was more than a co-producer…he was one person who wants to get out of his way to help friends. Ofori Amponsah is down.”
His Peace FM colleagues and Ofori Amponsah’s team went to Kumasi this afternoon by a charter flight for the final rites.
