Politically controversial musician, A-Plus, the sensational highlife artiste, Daasebre Gyamena and the evergreen Wulomei Traditional Group will Friday August 3 share a stage at the National Theatre.
Dubbed the Yello Comedy Night, the event would host Julius D’ Genius, Basket Mouth, I Go Die and a host of others.
Organized by Charterhouse, the Yello Comedy, which reflects a night of 1005 laughs, music and more, is expected to be one of those rare nights when hardworking Ghanaians gather at a cozy auditorium to laugh away their stress and relax with good music.
All over West Africa Julius D’ Genuis is recognized and acknowledged as one of the continent’s most hilarious comedians. He is believed to have his own brand of comedy which appeals to all and is perceived as highly hilarious.
In Nigeria Julius is regarded as one of the few African comedians, if not the only one, who pride themselves in the fact that they have performed for presidents of countries, state governors and major blue chip corporations in Nigeria.
This young entertainer has always said that he knew even in his mother’s womb that he was going to be a comedian. His stage presence reminds one of Eddy Murphy in his now famous RAW video, but Julius’ act is in a class of its own.
Perhaps, his comedy is never complete without the very popular Makosa dance steps.
For majority of Ghanaians names such as Gbenga Adeyinka, Basket Mouth and I Go Die are no new names on the list of highly acclaimed comedians.
These three have on several occasions thrilled Ghanaians to what is referred to as rib-cracking stand-up comedies that always shake up the venue of their acts.
