Beautiful, sexy and charming Diamond Nannah Appiah, aka Sexy D, a talented new female hiplife artiste has announced her presence on the hiplife music scene with her maiden album, Kasa Kyere Wo Kunu, which is currently making waves on all the local FM stations in the country.
With the album she seeks to ask married women to advice their husbands against going after young girls.
With the release of her maiden album, the young music star has managed to prove to hiplife music fans that she would soon emerge as one of the most talented hiplife artistes.
Many music lovers see her as a combination of Janet Jackson and perhaps Brandy. She has talent and stagecraft comparable to that of Janet Jackson and a soulful voice like that of songbird Brandy. “I have the talent.
I can write songs, rap and dance. My presence in the music scene means change is taking place in the rap music scene,” she told Beatwaves.
According to her she has music as a profession and film acting as a hobby.
With ‘Kasa Kyere Wo Kunu’, featuring Castro D’ Destroyer, she is set to displace music champs from the throne.
The album has hit songs like Ghana Girls, Aka Makuma, Don’t Want You, Adidas, Feeli Me among others.
Having the knack for music since her school days at Accra Girls, where she used to write her own lyrics, the fair pretty songbird is set to become a superstar.
Her style is a combination of highlife rhythm and hiplife, with a touch of ‘jama’.
Her emergence has become possible because of the tender support she had from her mother and her fans.
Born in Ejisu in the Ashanti Region to the late Yaw Appiah and Madam Joyce Agyei, Diamond schooled at Accra Girls Secondary School and then went to UK to study at Lewisham College. She is single but has someone in mind.
Diamond, who is also an actress, has featured in movies such as Amsterdam Diary, Coming from America, Dada Ba, Big Girls Club, Keeping The Promise and recently, Virgin For Sale.
She said “I hope to achieve a lot of success through my musical career and also mount international platform to perform alongside certain international stars.
I see myself as a successful music star because I have worked tirelessly for years on my musical career and fit to rub shoulders with those on the chart.
I believe very well that the competition is keen, but I will survive because I am Diamond and very precious”.
Next month, October will see the release of Sexy D’s 8-track album on the music market.
