MTV Networks Africa has revealed the five African artists nominated for And among the nominees is none other than yours truly Samini.

Jua Cali, Ghanaian Dancehall King
Samini and HHP – South Africa’s hottest hip-hop MC.
SAMINI’s maiden award winning album, LINDA showed promise of a musical sensation. A collection of thrilling songs artistically reflects the dynamism of the singer and prolific songwriter’s talent. LINDA was a hit in Ghana and went on to win two awards at Ghana Music awards.
In the same year he was adjudged as the best new artiste of the year at the same awards.
His individual ability to cross boundaries of age, social class adds a lot to his appeal. No wonder he’s cross national borders.
The five artists will find out which of them has won the high-ranking Best African Act Award at the glittering MTV Europe Music Awards ceremony, taking place at the OlympiaHalle Arena, Munich on Thursday November 1, 2007.
The ceremony will air live across Africa on MTV Base (DStv Channel 88) and MTV European (DStv Channel 85).
The Best African Act was initiated in 2005 to mark the arrival in sub-Saharan Africa of MTV’s African music channel, MTV base.
The first ever award was won by Nigeria’s
2-FACE Idibia, who received his award in Lisbon, Portugal in 2005, followed in 2006 by South Africa’s Freshlyground, who received their award from MTV VJ Sizwe Dhlomo in Copenhagen, Denmark. So get to the website (www.mtvema.com) and get voting for your man Samini.
