The President of MUSIGA Alhaji Sidiku Buari, has dismissed claims that he is trying to scheme with others to get Gyedu Blay Ambolley out of the MUSIGA Presidency race.
He said that MUSIGA, in perseverance to have free, fair and transparent elections have ordered a vetting committee to question each candidate according to their aspiring position. They will be questioned according to the MUSIGA constitution.
He debunked the claims that MUSIGA had chosen disc jockeys for the vetting and said that the select committee comprised if the Electoral commission and the National Committee on culture, among other commissions.
He said that Ambolley had not paid his membership dues since 1986 so this disqualifies him in terms if entering the presidency race for MUSIGA.
Having abandoned the union for so long, if he wanted to re-enter the union, which is now flourishing, al he had to do was pay the membership fee before this time.
When faced by the committee he said that he was the Vice-President since 1979-1988. However the committee then asked him to substantiate this with evidence.
The President then said that Ambolley is only trying to manipulate musicians by using the press to throw false allegations at him (the president).
The MUSIGA President also said that Ambolley lied when he said that he had been at the forefront of the struggle to lead MUSIGA to use the passport office as its office.
Buari said that he was at the time Vice President to Joe Mensah and Ambnolley was nowhere to be found. Even if he was, he was not a fee paying member of the union.
He ended by saying that he had no objection to Ambnolley becoming President of MUSIGA but he should not try to come through the “back door”.
