Akuafo hall is one of the traditional halls of the University of Ghana
which is noted for its glamorous celebration of the week. Between the
last week of October and the first week of November of the first
semester is the time the hall holds on its bill on the most prestigious
celebration among all the halls on campus, this is with regard to the
flamboyant way in which their annual week celebration is marked.

The organization of the 50th hall week was one of a class and if not exaggerating one will say the best out of the 50 hall week’s celebrations. The committee did not face much challenges due to the ability to secure major sponsorship, the dedication of committee members and their leaders as well as members of the central planning committee (CPC).which was said by the committee chairman Mr. Stanley Larbi Laryea.

The celebration commenced with a gospel rock show on 28th of Oct. this was when the students rolled out their handkerchiefs and praises to the lord and thanked him for what he has done for the hall. The artistes who were invited included Pastor Josh Laryea, Christiana Love and the likes. On the 2nd Nov. was the final event of The Face of Legon Beauty Pageant which had all the 13 belle on stage to make way for the one who won the crown. The contestants competed for an Accra London tickets, laptops and many more prize. The pageant was graced by musicians.

The "Face Of Legon" was sponsored by empire Entertainment, MTN, Weekly Fylla and the whole lot of sponsors. The delegates were on  Music Music a program on tv3 and later were invited by Kojo Antwi (the music man) to the trade fair center and many other attractive places. Followed by the pageant was the Artistes Night which featured many stars like Dogo, Kwaw Kese, Mobile Boys, TH4 Kwagees, Praye, Ebo, K.K Fosu, K-Gee of Mentor 3 Fame, and many up and coming artistes who stormed up the place.

The emcees for the night were Papa Sly and Bola Ray; comedians included Papa Sly and DKB of Mensah Sarbah Hall. Speaking with some of the students one Naa Odey Hammond a level 100 student said that she never knew the university could be that 'jormin' and Lovia Adu a level 400 student said through out her 4 yeas she has never experienced such a night, though Akuafo Hall is noted for the best organization of artiste night on campus. Speaking to the Bola Ray the Mc for the night he admitted he has witnessed so many artistes nights on campus but this was a bomb and extraordinary.

The program was sponsored by Kasapreko Ogidigidi Pepsi, MTN and Empire Entertainment. Special appearance was Wolf of 4syte TV and Hitz Radio. The hall week celebration continued on the 4th November at the Sandpiper Beach formerly kokrobitey the beach which was dubbed "yee seim" beach featured so many artistes.
