In this short time that
Becca Acheampong has been on the music scene, she has brought in a new touch to the musical domain. Last Friday at the Golden Tulip Hotel was the official launch of her debut album. The way she presents herself as an artiste, it would seem like this was at least her 5th album.
Becca has started on a higher pedestal than many “well-established artistes” in the country. How many artiste actually host about 500 people at the Golden Tulip for an album launch?
Kiki Banson (her producer) is working out great things for this young lady.
With her videos already playing on television (MTV Base, Channel O and local television), plus a song with one of the world’s greatest acts like Hugh Masakella, it’s on the up and up for Becca.
Not only that, she also has an NGO that support children who are mainly in need of serious medical attention called Helplink Foundation. Hugh Masakella’s flugelhorn was also auctioned for $37,000 (thirty seven thousand dollars).
At the launch, she established herself as an act that was not going to be put down any time soon. There was a duet with
Mac Tontoh, Kwabena Kwabena and Hugh Masakella who flew all the way to Ghana for her album launch.
The atmosphere was all pleasant at the pool side of Golden Tulip where some of the elite of society as well as the music industry’s big wigs. KOD,
Kwaku T, Eddie Blay, Kwame Faakye, Chris Attoh and a lot others.
To end the show, there was a great performance by Hugh himself only by that time many folks had gone home. Nonetheless it was a great evening of true music.
