The “I want to see you my father” man, King Ayisoba says he will cause a stir at this year’s Ghana Music Awards Festival.
With three nominations out of fourteen categories, King Ayisoba believes that this is the perfect time for him to get his due. He said this when he was asked how he felt about his nominations.
“You know this be new style, I bring from home (north). My style be different. So I go shock everybody and take the awards that day”, he said.
King Ayisoba’s “I want to see you my father” was nominated for the MOST POPULAR SONG OF THE YEAR Award together with big shots like Kweku Gyasi (Nyame Aseda), Obrafour (Heavy), Ofori Amponsah (Emmanuella ), Batman Samini (Samini Music), Praye (Ka Kyere me), Lord Kenya (Born Again) and Wutah (Change your style).
King Ayisoba also battles with Kweku Gyasi Obrafuor, Ofori Amponsah, Batman Samini, Lord Kenya and Wutah for the Artiste of the Year.
The last category is the DISCOVERY OF THE YEAR and King Ayisoba battles with Screwface, Ewura Esi, Ohemaa Mercy and Abigail Bedjabeng.
King Ayisoba once wrote and composed songs, and played the Kologo music for the Late Terry Bonchaka. He also taught Terry how to sing songs in the Frafra language.
After Terry Bonchaka’s sad death in 2003 he featured 'Mama Africa' with Kontihene.
His maiden album “Modern Ghanaians” is still enjoying a lot of air play in the capital city.
