Hip hop lovers in Ghana and Africa as a whole finally have something they can smile at, something that can match legend hip hop giants in the USA boot for boot.
Collectif Horizon, a hiphop squad of four namely Pak, Map originally of Prezence and Dandy and Xpert J of Version Korrect, is currently in the country to promote their album, “Plus Tard”, a French word meaning Later.
The 10-track album is strictly hip hop and it encompasses other genres of music such as Reggae and our very own hiplife rhythm.
It starts with an introductory prayer by Map, and is followed by an R & B, blended French and English rap gospel titled Yawhe.
It admonishes all to stand firm in moments of tribulation and the chorus goes like: “you lost and you are going through crisis, be strong and show your cutie cheeks, never mind, never never mind …”
Reggae fans will definitely fall in love with the track titled SIDA or AIDS which is expertly blended with good rap and raga.
“Midawase” is yet another danceable tune which makes use of Ofori Amponsah’s Otoolege beat woven with French and English rap to perfection.
The group says they are in Ghana because they want to inculcate into Africans the spirit of togetherness and brotherliness.
Collectif Horizon won the recently organized Faya Flow Competition held in Abidjan and organized by Cocody FM.
They recognized the good works some Ghanaian artists like Samini, Castro, K K Fosu as well as Okomfo Kwadee and expressed immense desire to collaborate with them.
