Emerging hiplife star, Nana Wiafe Asante Mensah, better known as ASEM, makes an important stride in his young career when his appearance tonight at the Boomerang Nite Club in Accra will be filmed for exclusive broadcast on Fontv, the digital television service on mobile phone recently launched by Black Star Television.
Creative Storm is responsible for content for Fontv and the multimedia company’s CEO, Kwesi Owusu, told The Mirror that local artistes do not need to pay any money to Fontv to have their videos aired. The videos will go on air free of charge if they are of good quality. “Fontv has 18 hours of varied programming daily. As content providers, our aim is to produce exciting television that has interesting and beneficial content,” Owusu said.
“We have already started building up programmes that support and help the music and entertainment industry in this country.”
He said the Boomerang bash on Saturday with ASEM is to popularise the Fontv content for people to get a sense of what programmes are on offer and also to bring artistes together to see Fontv as an exciting media which they can use to their advantage.
According to Owusu, various artistes will be featured and filmed at Boomerang to add to the Fontv menu.
“We want them to see this as their medium and to try and help them get over some of the tricky issues like artistes paying radio or television outfits to get their material broadcast.”
