The much-awaited maiden album of UK-based Ghanaian highlife musician, Kofi Tanoh, which is currently enjoying massive airplay on some local radio stations, will be released soon.
The album titled, ‘Aso Me Mu’, which will soon hit music shops across the country, is expected to be outdoored by Kumasi Market later in July.
Kofi Tanoh happens to be one of the few young and talented highlife musicians based in Europe who are working tirelessly to keep the flame of Ghanaian music burning.
What is very touching about the album is the sound quality of the tracks, which could be attributed to the state-of-the-art equipment used for the recordings.
‘Odo Pa’, one of the soul-winning tracks on the album, is a fast mid-tempo rendered in highlife, with a beautiful rhythm and a great bass tune to match. This song offers great inspiration to all music lovers.
Ghanaian music fans who have listened to some of the songs on radio would attest to the fact that Kofi Tanoh has added a new flavor to the music industry with his maiden album.
The album has a total of 12 tracks on the CD and eight on the cassette, including the reigning track, ‘Odo Pa’, with its glamorous video featuring the silky-voiced K. Twum aka Rasta.
Kofi Tanoh told BEATWAVES in a chat that his album has been carefully packaged to meet the demands of music lovers.
He is the kind of highlife musician who can thrill his audience with spectacular performances at all times. Indeed, he has been groomed for the past years into a complete entertainer who does not only possess a silky-voice, but also knows how and when to make music fans happy.
One of the hit songs on the album is “Odo Mame Anigye”. This particular song has a fast tempo tune which any soul music lover would appreciate. It is indeed an all-time masterpiece, fit for all occasions.
“Sansuo Ma Me” is another bouncy track on the album. There are other songs like “Aye Me De” and “Odo Yewu Nkomo Na Ekume”.
Kofi Tanoh believes Ghana’s music industry has a long way to go in terms of promotion and dealing with piracy.
